Job Summary
Hospitalist at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital in Southampton, NY. Daily rounds on inpatient census; present for shift change sign-out; admit patients from EDs and other locations within the organization; obtain histories, perform exams, diagnose, develop treatment plans, and order tests; collaborate with consulting providers; document clinical findings in the EMR daily; ensure continuity of care and implement plans; follow evidence-based practices; provide patient education and tailor instructions; instruct and counsel patients on therapies and wellness; oversee and mentor fellows and medical residents; supervise shadowing medical students and nursing interns. Salary includes $320,000–$350,000 for 24 weeks of day shifts annually with potential extra compensation for night shifts and available per diem outside contracted weeks. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds and prolonged standing. Location highlights: NY, Southampton.
