Hospitalist Physician - MedStar Washington Hospital Center

Provide internal medicine care 24 hours per day 7 days per week, managing inpatient referrals from primary care physicians and the Emergency Department. Conduct daily rounding services, history and physical exams, and discharge planning while overseeing resident care and teaching rounds for the Internal Medicine Residency program. Efficiently manage a caseload of 10 or more patients per day, responding to referrals in a timely manner and generating length of stay and charges below non-Hospitalist medical peers. Demonstrate knowledge of Federal and State regulations regarding accurate patient billing and coding for professional services and hospital-related charges. Participate in multidisciplinary quality improvement teams, community outreach efforts, and faculty advisor roles to monitor resident stress and competencies.
