Hospitalist Physician

Job Summary
Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care including admission workups, daily rounding, and discharge planning for hospitalized patients. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, respond to patient status changes, and lead rapid assessments for deteriorating patients. Coordinate care transitions with nursing staff and specialists, document encounters accurately in the electronic health record, and participate in handoff communications. Collaborate with the Chief of Hospital Medicine and multidisciplinary teams to support quality outcomes. Manage a high-acuity caseload independently across day and night shifts with no off-site call required. Work alongside a dedicated team at the Phoenix Indian Medical Center serving an underserved Native American community.
Required Qualifications
- 2 or more years of dedicated hospital medicine / hospitalist experience following residency
- Prior experience practicing in a federal, tribal, or Indian Health Service medical facility
- Familiarity with caring for Native American or other underserved patient populations
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-acuity inpatient caseloads independently, including overnight coverage
- Experience with inpatient quality improvement initiatives or performance-based care delivery models
- Must be available for Day Shifts: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- Must be available for Day Shifts: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- Must be available for Night Shift: 6:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Must be available for 10-30 Day Shifts per month
- Must be available for 15-30 Night Shifts per month
