Job Summary
Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care to hospitalized adult patients during night shifts, including performing admissions, evaluations, and ongoing management of acute and chronic conditions. Respond to overnight patient care needs, coordinate treatment plans, and manage patient transitions of care while collaborating with specialists, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams. Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record and participate in quality improvement initiatives to support patient safety and clinical efficiency. Join the established Hospital Medicine team at a 420-bed regional referral hub recognized as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level II Trauma Center, and Chest Pain Center.
Required Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency program
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Eligible for or holding an active Alabama medical license
Desired Qualifications
- Current ACLS certification preferred
