Job Summary
Manage 24/7 inpatient internal medicine care for referrals from primary care physicians and the Emergency Department, including daily rounding, history and physical exams, and discharge planning. Lead teaching rounds and oversee resident care on medical units while developing curriculum and mentoring residents. Efficiently evaluate patients to optimize hospital resource use and generate accurate billing records compliant with Federal and State regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, case management, and physician extenders to facilitate patient movement through the hospital continuum.
Required Qualifications
- License to practice medicine in the State of Maryland
- MD - Physician - State Licensure
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or a comparable adult medical specialty
- Fulfills the requirements for medical staff membership at Hospital
- Leadership educator and marketing skills
- Clinical expertise and business acumen
- Ability to collaborate with diverse groups of professionals and support staff
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years Experience providing internal medicine care preferred
- Basic computer skills preferred
