Job Summary
Conduct in-house obstetric care for emergent and unassigned patients, including monitoring labor, delivering babies, performing surgery, and treating postpartum cases. Collaborate with staff nurses, ED, and private practice physicians while providing consultation and nurse support. Site Directors additionally oversee program clinical and operational objectives, guide the hospitalist team, and travel to address hospital priorities. Work five to seven 24-hour shifts monthly with no on-call duty or administrative responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- OB/GYN Hospitalist
- Exceptional clinical skills
- Exceptional communication skills
- Passion for healthcare quality improvement
- Desire to shape the future of the specialty
- Ability to handle any obstetric emergency
- Experience working collaboratively with local obstetricians
- Experience providing coverage and assistance to private practice physicians
- Experience evaluating and treating triage patients
- Experience providing consultation to the ED
- Experience monitoring labor
- Experience delivering babies
- Experience performing surgery and surgical assists
- Experience evaluating and treating postpartum patients
- Experience providing nurse support and education
- Ability to work five or more Hospitalist shifts each month
- Ability to travel to address hospital and operational priorities as needed

- Experience caring for all pregnant women who present emergent, regardless of circumstance
- Experience cultivating relationships with staff nurses and hospital personnel
