Job Summary
Review shipping notices and orders to determine priorities and shipping methods. Receive and carry out blood orders from hospitals and customers. Inspect and evaluate blood products to ensure they are safe, pure, and potent. Package and deliver blood products to service area clients or transportation agencies. Run errands, deliver documents, pick up supplies, and transport small items for repair. Assist the Hospital Services Team Leader with resolving problems according to LifeSouth Standard Operating Procedures. Provide the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers. This full-time role requires a 3rd shift schedule (10pm-8:30am, four days a week) with some weekend and on-call hours. Starting salary is $15.50 to $17.05 per hour. LifeSouth serves over 150 hospitals across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Must meet and maintain LifeSouth driver's eligibility requirements
- Must be able to work a varied schedule
- Some night, weekend and on-call hours are required
- Ability to organize and manage time effectively
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Must be able to do basic math, including addition, subtraction, proportion, percentages, etc.
- Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 70 pounds, grasping and repetitive motion
- Occasional stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, climbing, overhead lifting
