Job Summary
Hospital Sales Representative responsible for consistently meeting and exceeding territory sales objectives with targets on Hospital Accounts and affiliated outpatient centers. Develop, execute, and monitor territory plans to expand product usage, advance hospital and specialty customers along the sales continuum, and gain prescriber commitments through effective questioning and use of approved materials. Demonstrate knowledge of promoted products, disease states, patient profiles, and treatment pathways; collaborate with cross-functional partners (Market Access, Medical, Marketing, Operations) to deliver pull-through strategies and cross-functional support. Utilize data tools and CRM (Veeva) to inform strategy, report activities, and manage samples in compliance with PDMA guidelines. Complete administrative duties timely and maintain compliance with company policies and training requirements. Travel up to 30% with field-based responsibilities in Northern NJ (Wayne, Morristown, Bridgewater, Princeton). Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and 5+ years of pharmaceutical hospital/acute care/outpatient sales experience, with a proven track record of territory performance and the ability to communicate complex scientific information and navigate formulary processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of skills and experience, required
- 5+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience with a minimum of 3+ years of sales experience within the hospital/acute care/out-patient setting, required
- Documented and measurable track record of sales performance including meeting or exceeding territory performance goals, required
- Account based selling experience in hospitals, wound care centers, or infusion centers within territory assigned, required
- Experience calling on Infectious Disease, Hospitalist, Critical Care pulmonologist, Emergency Medicine and other specialties impacting infusion centers/Wound Care, strongly preferred
- Experience building advocacy in a hospital for an acute care product, required
- Ability to understand, articulate and present complex scientific information, required
- Knowledge of formulary approval process and driving formulary approvals, required
- Strong presentation, organizational, administrative and communication skills, required
- Experience utilizing and optimizing CRM systems in support of territory dynamics, required
- CRM experience (Veeva preferred)
- Ability to travel up to 30%
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record, required
- Compliance training and required acknowledgments (IC plans, Compliance, etc.)
- Meet all requirements for pre-employment screening (background check, drug testing, motor vehicle history)
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and pull-through strategy development
