Hospital Rounder- Nocturnist

Provide overnight inpatient medical care including admissions, consults, cross-coverage, and management of acutely ill hospitalized patients at Doctors Community Hospital. Evaluate hospitalization appropriateness for new admissions and collaborate with the Emergency Department and care management to determine settings, including consideration of Advanced Care at Home. Coordinate specialty consultations, respond to urgent clinical issues, and facilitate safe transitions of care through comprehensive handoffs to the daytime Hospital Medicine team. Practice independently overnight while supporting patient throughput, utilization management, and quality initiatives by ensuring timely admissions and appropriate level-of-care decisions. You will have access to integrated outpatient records in the EMR to facilitate admissions and will cover some core SNFs. The role involves 7 shifts per 14-day block from 7p to 7a. No procedures are required, and you will attend to provide medical support only for Kaiser patients during Code Blue and Rapid Response events, with 24/7 in-house intensivist support available.
