Job Summary
Provide overnight inpatient medical care at Holy Cross Hospital, including admissions, consults, cross-coverage, and rapid clinical assessment of acutely ill patients. Evaluate hospitalization appropriateness for new admissions, collaborate with the Emergency Department and care management, and coordinate specialty consultations to facilitate safe transitions to the daytime team. Practice independently while supporting patient throughput, utilization management, and quality initiatives, with access to integrated outpatient records for admissions. No procedures are required; attend to medical support for Kaiser patients only during in-house Code Blue and Rapid Response events. Work seven shifts per 14-day block from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with some coverage of the KP observation unit at advanced urgent care centers.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Eligible in Internal Medicine
- Currently licensed or able to obtain licenses in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia
- Practice patient-centered, culturally competent medical care
