Job Summary
Provide effective and safe resident/patient care by preparing, administering, and charting routine and emergency medications while maintaining infection control standards. Direct and supervise day-to-day functions of LPNs and CNAs in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards. Ensure all nursing personnel perform duties per written policies, report accidents promptly, and investigate causes to correct unsafe conditions. Maintain adequate stock of supplies and equipment. Requires active RN license in North Dakota, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications. Full-time and part-time roles available with shift differentials for night and weekend shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing with the State of North Dakota
- Active BLS certification
- Active ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications or must obtain within 6 months of hire
- Ability to lift 5-50 pounds
- Ability to communicate with residents, personnel and consultants
- Ability to distinguish smells, tastes and temperatures
- Ability to hear and respond to pages
- Ability to read and write in English
- Visual and auditory ability to assess resident/patient conditions
- Ability to verbally communicate and problem solve effectively with patients, staff, physicians, and families
- Ability to remain calm under stress
- Manual dexterity to perform such functions as administering injections, inserting catheters, administering IV solution, pushing a medication cart, and performing CPR
- Physical agility to respond in a quick manner
- Ability to complete forms and records
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, patients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
- Ability to assist with lifting and transferring of patients
