Job Summary
Provide comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to trauma and spine patients in an acute care environment. Responsibilities include performing thorough assessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans, administering medications and treatments, monitoring neurologic status and pain, and coordinating multidisciplinary care with physicians, surgeons, therapists, and support staff. Provide pre- and post-operative care for spine surgery and trauma patients, monitor neurologic status, pain control, mobility, and potential complications, and ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record. Serve as a key clinical resource, offering education on diagnoses, procedures, rehabilitation expectations, and discharge plans, and advocate for patient needs throughout the continuum of care. Collaborate with trauma and spine teams to support evidence-based protocols, participate in rounds, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety, fall and infection prevention, and optimal outcomes. Role supports rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays to ensure 24/7 patient care.
