Job Summary
Transport patients and equipment around the hospital using wheelchairs, trolleys, beds or walking aids; move equipment and furniture to support hospital operations with proper storage, cleanliness and safety; handle non-patient portering tasks including transport of medical specimens, pharmaceuticals, blood products, medical gases and confidential records; assist with waste management and secure distribution of mail, goods and materials in line with infection-control procedures; adhere to health, safety and infection-control protocols and report faults or hazards promptly; role requires Enhanced DBS and Occupational Health screening, with opportunities for development and internal progression within a large public healthcare employer.
Required Qualifications
- Enhanced DBS check (including spent and unspent convictions)
- Occupational Health Questionnaire
- experience in manual-handling or customer-facing role
- ability to push, pull and stand for long periods
- empathy and patient-care orientation
- good interpersonal and communication skills
