Hospital Phlebotomist

Job Summary
Perform blood collections via venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups, including specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, and alcohol tests. Process collected specimens for testing and analysis while maintaining accurate patient and specimen logs. Enter patient information timely and handle billing information and payments as required. Provide superior customer service to all patients and complete administrative and clerical duties. Travel to additional sites when needed and work independently under minimal supervision. Monday through Friday shifts from 3:00 AM to 11:00 AM with rotating weekends. High school diploma required with three months of phlebotomy experience; certification from an accredited agency preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 months or more of phlebotomy experience
- Monday - Friday 3:00AM - 11:00AM with rotating weekends
- Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
Desired Qualifications
- Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 1 year or more experience as a phlebotomist
- In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
- Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
