Job Summary
Obtains and records complete medical history, performs physical examinations, and documents assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plans in progress notes. Orders, evaluates, and monitors medical and laboratory diagnostic tests and treatment plans, including x-rays, pharmaceuticals, and interdisciplinary consults. Prepares, develops, and initiates treatment plans in consultation with the attending physician while performing routine invasive and diagnostic therapeutic procedures. Educates and counsels patients and family members on conditions, treatment expectations, and recovery. Conducts patient rounds, prepares discharge summaries, and responds to emergencies until relieved by a physician. Works 12-hour night shifts (7pm-7am or 5pm-5am) with potential on-call duty and may require working outside scheduled hours.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse licensure to practice in State of Michigan
- Graduate of an accredited AGACNP program or Physician Assistant program
- ANCC or AANP certification
- Unrestricted license to practice in the State of Michigan, including Registered Nurse and Nurse Prescriber authorization
- Unrestricted DEA registration for each practice location
- 3 years of professional experience in an acute setting, preferred
- Current BLS certification
- Knowledge of OSHA, MIOSHA, JACHO and HIPAA regulations
- Knowledge of patient care standards and practices normally acquired through graduation from an accredited nurse practitioner program
- Knowledge of professional theory, practice, and medical care to give and evaluate patient care
- Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations, and procedures to supervise
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions, ability to establish a safe work environment
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments, ability to assist in administration of patient care
- Must have on file at all times accurate and up-to-date documentation demonstrating a supervising/collaborating physician relationship
- Working 12 hour night shifts, 7pm-7am or 5pm-5am
- Ability to work outside of scheduled work hours when the need arises
- Started primary vaccination series against COVID-19 or received a sincerely held religious belief or medical exemption
- Completed primary series as outlined in FDA's prescribing instruction for vaccine administration
- Receive booster within 30 days after the date that they are eligible to receive it
