Hospital Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary
Plan performance of service using an appropriate problem-solving approach. Repair HVAC, mechanical, and refrigeration systems by replacing or renewing components. Inspect and test electrical circuitry, troubleshoot faulty equipment, and perform corrective and preventive maintenance on all hospital systems. Estimate material quantities, prepare requisitions, and read blueprints and technical manuals for proper operation. Establish and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance programs to prevent system failures. Provide direction to rectify adverse situations while enforcing Facility Services Department policies and safety protocols. Use monitoring equipment correctly, ensure proper safety and infection control measures, and attend scheduled training programs. Maintain a valid NC driver's license and adhere to FirstHealth of the Carolinas safety and infection control plans.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Technical training equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of specialized training/experience in the electrical and mechanical field
- Valid NC driver's license
- Good driving history
- Able to perform a variety of changing duties
- Able to adhere closely to established standards
- Verbal ability
- Able to interpret technical manuals related to maintenance, blueprints and specifications for installation and maintenance of equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Training in specific items of equipment such as boilers, chillers, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and building automation systems
