Hospital Lab Assistant - Microbiology Dept

Labcorp is seeking a Micro Lab Assistant to join the Microbiology Lab at UAB St. Vincent’s East in Birmingham, AL. Responsibilities include receiving and sorting clinical lab specimens, preparing specimens for testing, data entry of specimen and patient information, maintaining and troubleshooting lab equipment, ensuring safety and quality standards, replenishing supplies, keeping records/logs, and adhering to SOPs. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology preferred), microbiology lab experience, basic computer/data entry skills, strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced production environment, and the ability to pass a color blindness test; overtime flexibility is noted. The role is in a high-volume production setting with comprehensive benefits for 20+ hours per week.
