Hospital Lab Assistant

Job Summary
Receive and sort clinical lab specimens, prepare specimens for testing and analysis, and perform data entry of specimen and patient information. Ensure lab equipment is functioning properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance; troubleshoot specimen-related issues; replenish test bench supplies; maintain a clean, safe work environment; complete record logs and assist with administrative duties; follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards. This production-based LabCorp role operates in a high-volume clinical lab setting with a Tuesday–Saturday layout and a 9:30 PM–6:00 AM schedule with rotating weekends and holidays. The position requires comfort handling biological specimens, basic computer/data-entry skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting turnaround times; other duties as requested. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent; preferred one year or more of medical/lab or production experience; willingness to work overtime as needed.
Required Qualifications

- 1 year or more of medical/lab or production experience
- Comfortability with handling biological specimens
- Ability to accurately identify specimens
- Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods
- Must pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
