Job Summary
The Staff Nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. Works within organizational policies and procedures, ensuring standards of practice and coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff to deliver quality nursing care. Responsibilities include applying nursing processes, maintaining professional growth and accountability, coordinating care, and upholding patient safety and clinical standards. Requires graduation from an accredited school of nursing with licensure as an RN in Georgia; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Additional unit-specific certifications may be required within specified timeframes.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing
- Bachelors Degree Preferred
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Required
- ACLS Certification - required within 180 days for various units
- PEARS or PALS Certification - required at Piedmont Athens Hospital / Piedmont Columbus Hospital within 180 days
- PALS Certification - required at various Piedmont locations
- NRP by end of orientation period in certain units (if applicable)
- ENPC/ TNCC certifications as applicable by unit
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification prior to independent chemotherapy administration (Upon Hire)
