Job Summary
Environmental Services Trainer role focused on teaching and modeling cleaning, disinfecting, and infection-prevention best practices for hospital environments. Responsibilities include training staff on cleaning patient rooms, clinical areas, and specialized spaces (e.g., surgical suites, Cath lab, sterile areas), coaching teams to meet safety and quality standards, coordinating with multiple departments to ensure patient care priorities are met, and educating on proper handling of chemicals, waste, and personal protective equipment while complying with OSHA, EPA, Joint Commission, DOT, CDC, HIPAA, RCRA, CMS, and related regulations. The role requires leading ongoing educational sessions, standardizing processes, and fostering collaboration to achieve safe outcomes for patients and staff.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- DOT Certification
- Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training preferred or completion within one year of employment
- One year of hospital, skilled nursing facility, or other related cleaning experience
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language
