Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day patient services operations by opening and closing the department, coordinating daily meal preparation, and enforcing proper food portioning and handling procedures under HACCP standards. Manage work schedules, conduct morning and evening meetings to resolve issues, and review logs for staffing and equipment concerns. Ensure strict adherence to sanitation policies, infection control procedures, and regulatory codes while maintaining timeliness of patient tray services. Complete required departmental reports and quality control records within established time frames. Identify operational improvements and notify departments of equipment malfunctions immediately.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Hospitality or Healthcare Management, or equivalent of education and experience
- Food Manager Certificate (current or obtained within 6 months of hire)
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a kitchen leadership role
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a long-term or acute care facility
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local codes and regulations about hospital food service
- Knowledge of A la Carte/Room Service food operations
- Proficiency with Windows computers and software
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supervising Union employees
- Patient/Healthcare software experience
