Job Summary
Assist faculty surgeons and residents in chair-side, ambulatory, and recovery settings for IV sedation, oral sedation, and general anesthesia patients, including medically compromised and special needs individuals. Prepare operatories, manage IV lines, adjust infusion rates, and administer emergency medications under supervision. Monitor and record vital signs, attach monitors, and provide preoperative and postoperative care instructions. Maintain drug and equipment inventories, check expiration dates, and ensure sterile environments for implant placements. Clean operatories, manage patient flow, and oversee clinic operations to meet daily requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Current certification as a dental assistant (CDA) OR the ability to obtain same within six months
- Three years of experience in a general dentistry
- One year of experience in specialty practice (such as endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, orthodontics, or hospital dentistry) or equivalent education/experience
- Registered with the State of Washington as a Dental Assistant
- DAANCE certified (Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Examination)
- IV certified
