Job Summary
Prepare food for patients, staff, and guests while assisting with general cleaning of cooking and eating areas. Supervise dietary staff in the absence of the Manager, ensuring facility and departmental policies, proper sanitation, safety, and infection control are followed. Maintain high standards of quality food production, portion control, and equipment cleaning to meet department standards. Accept verbal and written instructions and demonstrate a willingness to help with work that needs to be done. This role requires one year of cooking experience and availability for six shifts per six-week schedule, including three weekend shifts.
Required Qualifications
- One (1) year of cooking experience
- Must be available to work Six (6) shifts per Six (6) week schedule
- Three (3) must be on the Weekend (Saturday's or Sunday's)
- Must be able to accept and understand both verbal and written instructions
- Must be able to provide high quality food preparation and service
- Must be able to clean and maintain equipment to meet department standards
- Must be able to maintain high standards of quality food production and portion control
- Must demonstrate a willingness to help with work that needs to be done
- Must take initiative to identify problems and bring about a positive and sustainable solution
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Culinary Arts degree
- Completion of state or local food safety training course
- Healthcare experience
