Hospital Coding Specialist II - Emergency Department

Hospital Coding Specialist II focused on the Emergency Department with responsibility for accurately interpreting medical record documentation and assigning appropriate ICD-10, CPT, or modifiers for moderately complex ED-related codes (ED, OBS, SDC, etc.). Requires at least two years of hospital coding experience and current HIM or coding certification through AHIMA or AAPC. Duties include ensuring timely coding, charging, and data abstraction to support clean billing, maintaining coding knowledge through in-services and seminars, and communicating with physicians to obtain information needed for accurate codes. Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and excellent written/verbal communication skills are essential.
