Job Summary
Process medical records and patient documentation accurately using hospital portals and EMRs to create and organize charge tickets. Review documents for correct sequencing, scan materials into charts, and coordinate with hospitals, providers, and staff via email and phone to resolve submission delays. Maintain strict HIPAA confidentiality, adhere to CMS and payer guidelines, and meet quality standards set by the Charge Entry Manager. Cross-train for coverage as needed and complete follow-ups promptly while staying updated on ICD-10 and CPT coding changes.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of medical office experience
- Basic knowledge ICD-10 and CPT Coding
- Specialty clinical experience in Gastroenterology
- Skills and knowledge of EMR software functionality and operations
- Proficiency in multiple Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge and ability to process patient medical records
- Ability to work under pressure
- Interpret and apply clinical and non-clinical policies and procedures
- Travel within the Metro area
Desired Qualifications
- Basic knowledge ICD-10 and CPT Coding preferred
- Specialty clinical experience in Gastroenterology preferred
