Job Summary
Hospice Volunteer Coordinator at The University of Kansas Health System (Olathe Medical Pavilion D) coordinates the volunteer program across hospice locations to support patients, families, and staff. Responsible for developing, implementing, evaluating, and maintaining volunteer services; recruits, trains, schedules, and supervises volunteers; ensures regulatory compliance; builds community partnerships; leads volunteer meetings and educational activities; maintains records and documentation; collaborates with the interdisciplinary team; supports marketing, outreach, and public education to promote hospice services and volunteer opportunities; focuses on engagement, retention, and volunteer recognition as part of a comprehensive care philosophy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Teaching, Communications, Human Services, Public Relations, or related healthcare field OR five years of related experience in volunteer coordination, healthcare nonprofit, or program management setting
- KDADS background check upon hire
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license, Kansas Class C or equivalent; and vehicle insurance meeting state minimums; access to reliable transportation
- MVR results must be in compliance with Health System Safe Driving Program Policy
- Ability to perform the professional, clinical and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department; willingness to collaborate with interdisciplinary team
