Job Summary
Recruit, interview, and support hospice volunteers while developing orientation and training programs. Conduct annual recruitment sessions, coordinate educational meetings, and maintain volunteer records and program statistics. Work with patients, families, and the hospice team to identify volunteer needs, supervise evaluations, and represent the organization at community events. Participate in interdisciplinary group meetings, QAPI activities, and assist with budget planning and program development. Maintain a strong volunteer community focused on meaningful connections for patients and families.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting
Desired Qualifications
- advanced degree in human services
- Hospice and/or volunteer program experience
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Ability to recruit, train, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate volunteers
- Understanding of the hospice philosophy and the importance of compassionate, patient-centered care
- Someone who is organized, dependable, compassionate, and enjoys working with people
