Hospice Volunteer

Hospice Volunteer role in Colchester, VT (Chittenden County) to provide companionship and support for patients and families. Responsibilities include offering friendly visits, reading aloud, engaging in activities (music, crafts, puzzles, games), walking companionship, bedside presence, respite for caregivers, vigil during final stages of life, memory projects, and potential pet therapy visits (therapy dog-certified) or licensed haircuts. May also provide office/virtual support. Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, reliable communication with the Volunteer Coordinator via email, onboarding/training, and willingness to complete administrative requirements and volunteer hours. Opportunity to control your schedule and decide whether to take on new patient assignments; prior experience with diverse individuals and comfort navigating end-of-life care is valued.
