Job Summary
Assess psychosocial status of patients and families regarding terminal illness, providing in-home evaluations when safety permits. Carry out social evaluations covering family dynamics, caregiver abilities, and suicide risks to plan interventions and counsel on stress. Educate interdisciplinary groups on cultural needs and assist in preparing advanced directives. Maintain clinical records, serve as a liaison to community agencies, and oversee volunteer and bereavement programs. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to recognize psychosocial effects on symptoms and assist in planning funeral and legal arrangements. Full-time position in Billings, Montana. MSW preferred with one year of health care or hospice experience.
Required Qualifications
- A graduate of a bachelor's program in social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education
- Meets personnel qualifications stated in §418.114(b)(3)
- Must be licensed with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order
Desired Qualifications
- A Masters degree in Social Work
- Minimum of one (1) years' experience in health care
- Hospice experience
- Understands hospice philosophy, and issues of death/dying
- Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills
