Hospice RN Perceptor

Job Summary
Hospice RN Preceptor serves as a clinical mentor and educator responsible for onboarding, training, and supporting newly hired and transitioning clinical staff. The role ensures competency in hospice philosophy, clinical skills, regulatory compliance, and interdisciplinary collaboration, and fosters confidence and critical thinking to support compassionate end-of-life care. Key duties include providing structured orientation for new hospice nurses and clinical team members, supervising and validating competencies, teaching and coaching patients and families, developing and re-evaluating care plans with the IDG, maintaining required documentation, participating in on-call coverage, and coordinating care across patient homes, SNF/NF/ICF or MR environments. Requires an active RN license; BSN preferred; 3-5 years hospice or palliative care experience and prior preceptor/educator or leadership experience preferred. Travel to meet orientee needs is anticipated; flexible scheduling and field-based training are common. Adheres to HIPAA, participates in team conferences, and supports ongoing staff education and program development.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
