Job Summary
Assist patients with activities of daily living including ambulation, toileting, bathing, dressing, oral care, and eating. Provide homemaker assistance by performing light housekeeping, ordering supplies, and preparing simple meals. Document care and condition changes in the electronic health record while communicating updates to the interdisciplinary team. Perform post mortem care and reinforce education for patients and families. Participate in service planning meetings and precept new staff and students.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Graduation from an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant program
- Current, unrestricted Nursing Assistant Certification in state of employment
- Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality about patients, families, caregivers, staff, donors, and organizational intellectual property
- Ability to use proper body mechanics, safe patient handling, and standard precautions
Desired Qualifications
- One-year personal care experience, hospice, or home health, preferred
- Experience using electronic health records; Epic preferred
