Hospice Registered Nurse On Call (RN Weeknights)

Job Summary
Observe and document the physical, mental, and emotional needs of patients and families. Consult with the Hospice Nurse regarding patient status and symptom management while delivering prescribed physical and psychological care. Monitor and document patient/family input and response to care, maintaining continuity through communication with families and healthcare professionals. Participate in Interdisciplinary Team Meetings and maintain adequate home care supplies. Collect documentation and paperwork as requested and assist with clinical billing when necessary. Participate in orientation of new hospice aides as assigned. Work Monday–Thursday, 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM in Lees Summit, MO. This role supports Ascend Hospice's mission to define excellence within the healthcare community by treating residents and families with respect, dignity, and compassion.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in a related field
- Hold a Valid and current RN license within the state of operations
- 1 year of clinical experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work as part of an inter-disciplinary team
Desired Qualifications
- Long Term Care/Home Care/Hospice experience preferred
