Job Summary
Coordinate physical care of patients with families, physicians, and the hospice team while applying nursing theories to meet reimbursement guidelines. Document all care activities and participate in IDT meetings and quality reviews as scheduled. Communicate with patients and families at all levels and maintain current RN licensure, CPR certification, and annual continuing education. Accept travel assignments and weekend/evening or holiday call rotations based on agency needs.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in state of practice
- Successful completion of a nursing education from an approved school of nursing
- Two years of clinical nursing experience
- One year of hospice nursing experience
- Knowledge of the framework, function, and organization of a home health and hospice care program
- Knowledge of the nurse's role as a member of the patient care team
- Working knowledge of the principles and practice of nursing according to nursing practice act
- Working knowledge of agencies policies and procedures
- Working knowledge of reimbursement guidelines
- 12 hours of continuing education annually
- CPR certification
- Accept travel based on agency need
- Accept weekend/evening and holiday call assignments
- Background checks/drug-free workplace
Desired Qualifications
- One year of hospice nursing experience preferred
