Job Summary
Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized nursing care to hospice patients, applying nursing theories to ensure care that meets reimbursement guidelines. Responsibilities include documenting care, coordinating physical care with family, patient, physician, and hospice team; communicating with patients/families and with agency personnel; participating in IDT meetings and quality reviews; and adhering to agency policies and procedures. Requires current RN licensure, completion of an approved nursing program, at least two years of clinical nursing experience with hospice experience preferred, knowledge of home health/hospice operations, adherence to nursing practice acts, and CPR certification. Travel may be required; weekend/evening/holiday call assignments are possible; background checks and a drug-free workplace; EOE. Location: Jacksonville, NC, USA.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in state of practice
- successful completion of nursing education from an approved school
- two years of clinical nursing experience
- at least one year of hospice nursing experience preferred
- knowledge of home health and hospice care program and nurse’s role on patient care team
- continuing education (12 hours annually)
- CPR certification
- travel based on agency need and weekend/evening/holiday call assignments
