Hospice Registered Nurse

Job Summary
Conduct nursing care for terminally ill hospice patients in home settings, including dietary counseling, symptom management, and preventive procedures. Assess and re-evaluate patient needs, teach families on care provision, and develop care plans with the interdisciplinary team. Perform specific nursing procedures per physician orders, observe physical and emotional changes, and report unexpected conditions to the physician. Supervise other nursing personnel, maintain HIPAA-compliant records, and participate in on-call coverage for assigned duties. Work independently to make accurate judgments while adhering to infection control policies and attending team conferences.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Currently licensed as a registered nurse to practice in the state
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a registered nurse
- Active patient contact within past three years
- Ability to work independently, make accurate, and at times, quick judgments
- Ability to supervise others appropriately
- Ability to respond appropriately to crisis outside of a hospital setting
- Acceptance of and adaptability to different social, racial, cultural and religious modes
- Must Complete Hospice training program
