Job Summary
Part-Time Hospice Music Therapist (MT-BC) to provide comfort, connection, and emotional support to hospice patients and families through individualized music therapy services in home and facility settings. Responsibilities include conducting music therapy assessments and developing individualized plans, delivering therapeutic music interventions, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, supporting emotional expression, relaxation, and symptom relief, and accurately documenting services in the EMR HCHB. Ensure HIPAA compliance and agency policies. Requires MI licensure, MT-BC certification, and relevant health/safety clearances. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, serving West Branch, MI and surrounding areas.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Music with a concentration in Music Therapy, and must meet educational requirements to achieve certification from the Certification Board for Music Therapists
- MT-BC certification or eligibility
- Licensed or registered in the State of MI
- Must pass a criminal background check & MVR check
- Valid state driver’s license
- Proof of automobile insurance
- Current CPR card (online acceptable; hands-on preferred)
- TB testing per agency policy (1 or 2-step within 12 months)
- Experience with terminally ill patients/families preferred
