Job Summary
Conduct music therapy services for terminally ill patients and their families in accordance with the interdisciplinary plan of care. During initial evaluations, assess patient strengths and needs, then develop, implement, and evaluate care plans while managing your own schedule for visits. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, attend group and staff meetings, and document patient visits to reflect individualized care. Provide music for staff support and special events, create legacy gifts using GarageBand software, and deliver educational in-services to the community. Maintain patient confidentiality, adhere to HIPAA regulations, and accept feedback regarding performance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Music Therapy from an accredited music therapy program
- Current board certification from the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT)
- Minimum of 1-year experience in music therapy
- Must be a licensed driver with auto insurance and reliable daily transportation
- Able to work independently and as a member of the interdisciplinary team
- Displays an attitude of courtesy and respect for all prospective patients, families, staff and referral source
- Functions as a team member with other staff in the performance of duties
- Seeks and accepts feedback regarding the performance of job duties
- Is aware of patient confidentiality and adheres to HIPPA regulations
- Displays an understanding of vulnerable adult issues
- Displays an understanding of hospice patients' rights
- Exhibits sound mature judgment
