Job Summary
Perform personal care tasks including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, dressing, and transferring patients as assigned. Provide positive communication, maintain patient safety with proper equipment use, and monitor skin integrity to prevent tissue breakdown. Assist with ambulation, exercise, and range of motion activities while documenting observations and reporting pain, symptoms, or behavioral changes to the RN Case Manager. Offer respite to patients and families, keep living areas clean, and handle light homemaker duties like laundry and waste disposal. Adhere to mandatory reporting protocols for abuse, neglect, or non-compliance with health department requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a state approved certified nursing assistant course or equivalent training
- Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC)
- Current Healthcare Provider CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification
- Current Food Handlers Permit
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED)
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given
- Understands hospice philosophy, comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally ill
- Prior experience in hospice, orderly, acute, rehabilitative, or long term care facility
- At least 18 years of age
- Licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with organization requirements and is in good working order
