Job Summary
Hospice CNA provides personal care and support to terminally ill patients in a compassionate, professional manner. Responsibilities include bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting assistance (including lifts, bedpans, and urinals), mobility and transfer support, and maintaining a safe, clean environment. Patient monitoring includes recording vital signs, input/output, and meal intake, with timely documentation and reporting changes to the supervising nurse. Offers family and caregiver education and bereavement support; performs light housekeeping and meal assistance; ensures infection control and HIPAA privacy; attends mandatory trainings and meets safety standards. Must have High School diploma or equivalent, valid SC CNA certification, current CPR, and be able to lift up to 75 pounds, travel throughout the service area, and work varied shifts including weekends and holidays. Two listed Mt Pleasant, SC locations (Lutheran Hospice LowCountry) indicate on-site, in-person care delivery.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid South Carolina CNA certification
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum 2-3 years of home health or hospice experience preferred
