Job Summary
Provide medical direction for hospice patients including care planning, symptom and pain management; serve as clinical resource and educator on hospice, palliative care, and end-of-life issues; participate in interdisciplinary team (IDG) meetings; conduct patient assessments and clinical visits (home, inpatient, and telehealth); ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards while supporting ethical practices, community outreach, and hospice admissions; oversee two interdisciplinary teams and two inpatient units (IPUs) across Palm Beach County, collaborating with care teams to deliver high-quality, compassionate end-of-life care; requires MD or DO degree, Florida license, and active medical practice experience; hospital privileges, DEA registration, and CPR certification are required.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certified in a related specialty
- Current Florida license to practice medicine pursuant to Florida Statute 458 or 459
- Minimum 2 years recent active practice and direct medical care experience
- Hospital staff privileges at one or more hospitals
- Current federal DEA registration
- Valid CPR Certification required if patient facing
