Hospice Area Executive of Clinical Operations (Hospice Administrator)

Job Summary
Oversee all patient care activities within the hospice program, ensuring compliance with Medicare and State Hospice Benefit regulations while managing pharmacy, medical supplies, durable medical equipment, and labor. Conduct weekly onsite location visits and monthly validation reports to monitor care quality, staffing adequacy, and acuity-based service adjustments. Direct the professional development of Hospice Directors and Associate Medical Directors, manage a budget of patient/family services, and coordinate with ancillary vendors to resolve service variances. Supervise five to ten teammates, including interviews, hiring, performance appraisals, and complaint resolution. Maintain full responsibility for Pre-Bill compliance, unbilled outcomes, and regulatory documentation. Requires 50% travel across the United States, including nights and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in state of employment
- Current CPR certification
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds
- Visual acuity including close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Competency in general nursing theory, techniques and practice
- Professionalism, sound judgment and effective communications skills
- High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information such as patient records
- Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends
- Role requires 50% travel across the United States including all time zones and weather conditions
- Thorough understanding of the functions of a hospice organization
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, team members, investors, and external parties
- Strong written and verbal communications
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage
- Articulates and embraces hospice philosophy
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends

Desired Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing strongly preferred
- Two (2) to three (3) years of leadership and nursing experience in hospice or healthcare strongly preferred
- equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in state of employment, in addition to every state in the Area this role will be covering, highly preferred but not required
