Hospice Aide STNA Night Shift - Inpatient Unit

Job Summary
Conduct patient care and assistance for terminally ill patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse, including cleaning and bathing, toileting, hygiene maintenance, and changing bedding. Reposition, transfer, and move patients between wheelchairs, seats, and beds; serve meals and assist with eating. Measure vital signs such as blood pressure and temperature, while observing and listening to patients regarding health concerns to report changes to the nurse. Perform room and facility cleaning, maintain par stock of supplies, and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment and universal precautions. Work three 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, including weekends, at the Hospice Inpatient Care Center in Seaman, OH.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of State approved Nurse Aide course, testing, and registration
- Must carry state minimum in automobile liability insurance
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds using proper body mechanics
- Must be able to assist patient using aids, such as Hoyer lift
- Must demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment
- Must observe universal precautions
- Must have ability to accept supervision and follow instructions
- Must demonstrate effective communication skills with team members, clients, and family members
- Three 12 hour night shifts, 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, including weekends, at Hospice Inpatient Care Center in Seaman, OH
Desired Qualifications
- At least one of year experience in a patient care position in a hospital, nursing home, or related health care facility
- High school diploma or equivalent
