Job Summary

Perform personal care tasks including bathing, oral hygiene, dressing, and feeding patients as assigned. Monitor vital signs, observe skin condition, and report significant changes to the Case Manager. Assist with ambulation, provide respite for families, and maintain a clean living environment. Adhere to documentation standards and participate in quality improvement teams. Requires current CNA or CHHA certification, licensed driving, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Full-time role with hourly pay of $23–$25 in El Centro.

Required Qualifications

  • Current CNA or CHHA certification
  • Meets the training requirements of the State
  • Shows proof of registration on the Home Care Aide Registry through the Department of Social Services, Home Care Services Bureau
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given
  • Licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with organization requirements and is in good working order
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently for 3-6 hours
  • Ability to lift greater than 50 pounds occasionally for 1-3 hours
  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds frequently for 3-6 hours
  • Ability to carry greater than 50 pounds occasionally for 1-3 hours
  • Ability to push up to 50 pounds frequently for 3-6 hours
  • Ability to push greater than 50 pounds occasionally for 1-3 hours
  • Ability to pull up to 50 pounds frequently for 3-6 hours
  • Ability to pull greater than 50 pounds occasionally for 1-3 hours
  • Ability to sit occasionally for 1-3 hours
  • Ability to frequently stand for 3-6 hours
  • Ability to occasionally drive/operate foot control for 1-3 hours
  • Ability to walk intermittently on level or unlevel surface for less than 1 hour
  • Ability to intermittently bend or climb for less than 1 hour
  • Ability to occasionally twist, kneel, crouch and crawl for 1-3 hours

Desired Qualifications

  • Satisfactory references from previous employers
  • Understands hospice philosophy, comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally ill
  • Is self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision
  • Secure with issues of death/dying. Provides a calm manner when in a patient's home
  • Has empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and the impaired
  • Demonstrates tact, patience and good personal hygiene
