Job Summary
As a Hospice Aide, provide comfort care to patients enabling them to remain at home with their loved ones; collaborate with the hospice team to address each patient’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs; help patients approach their final days with joy, peace, and dignity; contribute to enhancing quality of life every day. Requires CNA certification or eligibility with CPR certification; state-specific licensure/certification requirements apply, with certain states accepting trained aides or registered aides and may include completing a state-approved nurse aide training program and maintaining continuous employment. The role is part of Compassus’ home-based hospice care, with onboarding and benefits described, and emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care across multiple states.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant highly preferred
- Current CPR certification required
- State-specific CNA/Nurse Aide licensure or certification requirements (Arizona, California, Colorado, Indiana, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Virginia, Wisconsin, and others)
- Licensed/certified as a Nurses’ Aide where applicable
- State-approved nurse aide training program with relevant employment history where licensure is not required
- Enrollment in nursing program with clinical rotation where specified by state requirements
