Hospice Aide (CNA Required)

Job Summary
Conduct home visits to assist patients with ambulation, nourishment, and fluid needs while maintaining infection control and recording vital signs. Provide simple emotional and psychological support to patients and families, establishing trust and confidentiality in a clean, safe environment. Adhere strictly to the care plan and OSHA standards, reporting schedule changes or emergencies to the Clinical Manager. Organize daily visit schedules to minimize travel time and accept assignment changes during staffing difficulties. Requires current STNA certification, one year of hospice experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Full-time Monday-Friday 8am-5pm coverage in Medina/Brunswick with competitive compensation, medical/dental/vision benefits, tuition reimbursement, and mileage allowance.
Required Qualifications
- Currently Certified as a STNA in the state of Ohio
- Minimum of 1 year of Hospice Aide experience in a health care or home care setting
- Current driver's license with current automobile insurance
- Must have reliable transportation
- Excellent communications skills
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of providing patient care, ambulating patients, transferring patients, assisting with exercises, etc.
- Self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision
- Avid team player
- Consistently maintains a positive attitude which promotes team and optimal performance
- Must be empathetic, nonjudgmental, tactful, responsible, adaptable, organized, and committed to the purpose and objectives of the Agency
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
