Job Summary
Hospice Aide / CNA - Full Time provides direct patient care in patients' homes under RN supervision, assisting with transfers, ambulation, nutrition, and daily living activities while maintaining infection control and accurate documentation. The role emphasizes compassionate, patient- and family-centered care, teamwork with the hospice staff, adherence to the Aide Plan of Care, after-hours/on-call coverage, and the ability to travel to patient homes. Requires high school diploma (preferred) and completion of recognized nurse aide training or comparable state-approved program; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate patient information clearly to patients, families, and care teams. Transportation and ability to work flexible schedules are required, with safety and privacy considerations prioritized in home environments.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Nurse aide training/competency evaluation program or state licensure or approved competency program
- Experience: at least one year preferred in hospice/nursing environment
- Transportation: reliable transportation with valid driver license and auto liability insurance
