Job Summary
Accept referrals from diverse resources via phone and fax, co-signing entries from LVNs and non-clinical staff. Prioritize daily admissions to guarantee timely patient intake while answering calls promptly and following up on pending referrals. Enter medical and insurance data into the EMR, verify physician orders, and document CTI information. Ascertains insurance contract status with St. Joseph Hospice Services, interfaces with billing specialists, and keeps Pharmacy and PBM informed of admissions. Apply Medicare and State Regulations to ensure compliance during the admission process.
Required Qualifications
- RN Licensure
- 1 year Registered Nurse experience
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association (Vendor Managed)
- California Registered Nurse License
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds
- Close and distance vision
- Color and peripheral vision
- Depth perception
- Ability to adjust focus
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, team members, investors, and external parties
- Strong written and verbal communications
- Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English
- Proficient computer skills

- Knowledge of hospice compliance issues
