Job Summary
Maintain grounds and plant materials at Montpelier, preparing areas for daily visitors and special events while ensuring health of plants and safety for the public. Perform and support horticultural practices focusing on sustainable gardening and integrated pest management. Assist with educational programming and events. Maintain horticultural tools and equipment and keep records of work, garden maintenance, and plant health. Collaborate with the horticultural team to uphold high standards of landscape management and operations; assist with maintenance of all container/flower beds at various site locations. Requires ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and work weekends/holidays/evenings; valid Virginia driver’s license and color vision/depth perception are required.
