Job Summary
Horticultural Assistant responsible for indoor and outdoor horticultural work in greenhouses, conservatories, landscapes, and city gardens for municipal displays. Tasks include plant propagation and growing, knowledge of plant care, use of pesticides and fertilizers, installation and arrangement of displays, record-keeping, and working under moderate supervision in variable weather conditions. Role involves physical exertion and may require night/weekend work; requires a high school diploma or GED and a Maryland Class C noncommercial driver’s license, plus relevant experience and completion of background checks as applicable.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED
- two years experience in propagation and growing of plants, trees and shrubs in a commercial nursery, greenhouse or landscape operation
- valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver's license or equivalent

- ability to work nights/weekends may be required
