Job Summary
Evaluate the capabilities of the program's horses and retrain or cross-train them based on initial assessments. Break and train newly purchased or donated horses for successful integration into the Horsemanship Program. Perform all duties relating to horse grooming, clipping, trimming, saddlery maintenance, and exercising while maintaining a safe and clean stable environment. This role requires at least four years of horse training experience, a valid driver's license, and the physical ability to lift 50+ lbs frequently. Applicants must be comfortable working around horses and willing to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends and holidays. Culver Academies is a private boarding school located on 1,800 acres of green hills and woodlands near Lake Maxinkuckee, dedicated to educating students for leadership and responsible citizenship.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or a High School Equivalency
- at least four years of horse training experience
- valid driver's license
- good driving record
- ability to lift 50+ lbs frequently
- physically capable of extensive bending, stooping, and walking
- willingness to work a flexible schedule
- willingness to work weekends and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Equine Study Program with an emphasis on military riding as it pertains to drills, parades, and ceremonial riding events
